Banh Mi

I can only vouch for the locations on Story Rd. and McKee. St. Both are really good. Best Vietnamese baguettes freaken ever. SOOO GOOD. Pate is a little lacking.

I don't know what people are smoking, but I need some of it. Reviews telling me this is the best banh mi... IN SOUTH BAY SAN JOSE AREA?! ARE YOU CRAZY?! Flavor is okay, they do a cilantro aioli rather than pate/mayo, which honestly, I do think I prefer the traditional flavors more than the aioli. They give a good amount of meat and a lot of vegetables. Meat is well seasoned, (I got the lemongrass chicken) but the pickled veggies had barely any flavor. The strongest flavors I tasted from the veggies were the jalapeno followed by the cucumber. The cucumber had a stronger flavor than the pickled daikon and carrots. Wild. A bit more oily than the banh mi from duc huong - which is the golden standard. They add fried onion which might contribute to the oiliness The bread wasn't bad, but again, YOU'RE IN SILICON VALLEY. Definitely did not taste as freshly baked as Duc Huongs. I have a theory they just source from them, but I'm not sure. You're paying an extra 6 dollars (before the B4G1 from Duc Huong) for a few more veggies, a cilantro sauce, and some fried onion. TL;DR: Go to Duc Huong. IMO, better in every aspect.
